Remember the first time you watched Spielberg’s Jaws? With their great, gnashing, razor sharp teeth and thrashing tail, Great White Sharks became the resident monster that lurked in the ‘depths’ of the swimming pool and on the ‘other side’ of the bath tub. I don’t know about you, but I was a scaredy cat to the core and have always had a fascination with these amazing creatures. Locals here in South Africa have an unspoken understanding with the wildlife inhabiting shared spaces. Basically, it comes down to leaving one another alone – you can admire from afar in ‘oohs and aahs’…

Podemos!

Spain World Cup

After never having advanced to a football world cup semi-final before, the Spanish team or “La Roja” (The Reds) as the team is called in Spain, went all the way and secured the title of World Champion last Sunday.

“Podemos!” (“we can!”) was the anthem that accompanied them during this year’s world cup.

Millions of people around the world watched the Spanish people celebrate this historical victory in the streets all over Spain and the Spanish people never seemed more united.

Posted November 26th, 2009 By Guest Blogger  | No Comments

Thanksgiving

Wikipedia:
“Thanksgiving Day is a harvest festival celebrated primarily in Canada and the United States. Traditionally, it is a time to give thanks for the harvest and express gratitude in general.”

I have no harvest to reap and I am not American. However, I am lucky to celebrate this day with turkey, family and friends nevertheless.

What is Thanksgiving Day to me, a Swede living and working in the U.S?
• Traffic jams
• Expensive travel
• Delayed flights
• Time to see family and friends
• A long weekend
• Lots of great food
• Happy times ☺

As a Controller within a sales organization, I find the holiday eats…

There’s only one thing that could be better than raising money to benefit Prostate cancer research: growing a fantastic moustache!!

Welcome to Movember.

There isn’t a month at Meltwater that goes by in which friendly competition isn’t encouraged. This month, a friendly regional office competition has blossomed into a mustache showdown – and donor check books are at stake. Meltwater has regional offices around the world competing in a philanthropic game of facial-hair-farming in the name of Prostate cancer research.

Rules of the game: Teams go head-to-head to see who can raise the most money.
What’s at stake: Fierce bragging rights!

To contribute to…
