Sales: My Career, Distilled

On a hot summer night in June 2007, my wife and I were dancing like frogs (seriously) on a roof-deck topiary, singing Sma Grodorna with some friends from the office. This diverse company is full of Swedes, and they were teaching us how to properly celebrate Mid-Summer’s day.

Roll Up Them Sleeves, and Apply Elbow Grease

In my last post I outlined my world-wanderings with Meltwater News.   It’s been incredibly rewarding to move from city to city, but of course that’s coupled with tough days.  I’ve met amazing people and have been pushed to confront challenges that I wouldn’t have faced in any other environment at my age.   And they were hard as hell.  I was out of my comfort zone too many times to recount.  It wasn’t glamorous: working together to establish process and work flow in my very first office and initially having a really tough time hitting the sales targets in Philadelphia.
